Conference of Lithuanian Librarians' Association “Associations’ Success Formulas”

Annual conference of Lithuanian Librarians' Association (LLA) “Associations’ Success Formulas” was the final event of the National Library Week. It took place in Raseiniai region, on April 30. This event was participated by three representatives of LLA division of the National Library: Viktorija Kirijakaitė (Lituanica Department), Laura Vancevičienė (Library Science Centre) and Chairman Alma Masevičienė.

Chairman of Lithuanian Librarians' Association Alina Jaskūnienė presented annual activity report, events and projects carried out in 2011. Member of Audit Commission Bronė Balionienė presented annual financial report.

Director of Association “Window to the Future” Loreta Križinauskienė awarded winners – librarians of competition “I use Information technologies safely”. Director General of Klaipeda County I. Simonaityte Public Library Juozas Šiksnelis awarded senior librarian of Pagramantis country branch of Birute Baltrusaityte Public Library of Taurage District Municipality Virginija Bartušienė for library, ethnographical and cultural activities, strong links with the community. Jonas Lankutis Public Library of Klaipeda District Municipality was awarded for cultural dissemination, responsible development of information technologies.

Reports were delivered and experience shared also by colleagues from Latvia and Estonia. President of Latvian Librarians' Association Silvija Tretjakova took pleasure in activity of young members of the association and expressed hope that their association will develop. President of Estonian Librarians' Association Katre Riisalu told about challenges and benefits of strategic planning of association’s activities.

The conference was finished by the tour to homeland of Lithuanian poet Maironis (Pasandravis historical reserve).
