Visit of Estonian specialists of Old books in the National Library

Members of Old books section of Estonian Librarians' Association visited Rare Book and Manuscript Department of the National Library on May 18. Colleagues found out about history and peculiarities of collections of Rare Book and Manuscript Department, specific of cataloging of old books. Selection of old books as well as experience and perspectives of development of UNESCO Memory of the World Lithuanian National Register were discussed during the meeting. Colleagues were particularly interested in fingerprint application for identification of defective publications and presentation of most valuable publications, stored in the Department.
