New issue of the magazine “In the World of Books” No 5 (640) 2012

The new issue No 5 (640) 2012 of the magazine “In the World of Books” presents:

• A review of the state and activities of Lithuanian libraries in 2011 (Antanas Senkus. Lithuanian Libraries in 2011);

• Article about 75th anniversary of the Kupiškis Municipal Public Library, reminding us about the origin of libraries in this region (Lina Matiukaitė. Pieces of History of the Libraries of the Kupiškis Region);

• Article about winners of the nomination of the best librarian of 2011, who were awarded at the Ministry of Culture (Honoring of the Winners of a Professional Competition);

• Activities and projects of Lithuanian Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) (Roma Kišūnaitė. The Children’s Book is a Mature and Dynamic Phenomenon);

• Memories from Rare book and Manuscript Department of Gabriele Petkevicaite-Bite Panevezys County Public Library about social figure, philanthropist, participant in the national renaissance movement and distributor of the prohibited press Elžbieta Jodinskaitė (1877–1951) (Loreta Dundulienė, Aušra Veličkienė.
