Conference and final meetings of the IFLA project “Building strong Library Associations”, carried out by Lithuanian Librarians 'Association took place on June 14-15.
One of the final meetings was held at the National Library. The meeting was attended by main lecturer of IFLA program training modules in Lithuania Prof. Dr. Claudia Lux, main coordinator-manager of IFLA program Fiona Bradley, chairman of Lithuanian Librarians 'Association Alina Jaskūnienė, Board members, Deputy director general of the National Library of Lithuania Genovaitė Šablauskienė, chairman of the Lithuanian Research Library Consortium (LMBA) Emilija Banionytė, LMBA head of Administration Aušra Vaškevičienė, representatives of the National Library division of Lithuanian Librarians 'Association.
Chairman of Lithuanian Librarians 'Association Alina Jaskūnienė presented project “Building strong Library Associations”, aiming to strengthen strategically activity of LLA (Lithuanian Librarians 'Association) as well as ensure its continuity and results; chairman of National Library division of Lithuanian Librarians 'Association Alma Masevičienė shared her impressions of post-graduate trainings she was attended. The participants also discussed opportunities of closer cooperation of Lithuanian Librarians 'Association and the National Library, especially in the field of librarians’ trainings.
Project team meetings took place in Adomas Mickevicius Vilnius County Public Library and Vilnius University Library.
Project results as well as strengthening of LLA sustainability activities were discussed in the final conference (on 15 June).
