Exhibition “Lithuanian Museums’ Publications” in the National Library
This year marks 200 years anniversary of the first public museum in Lithuania – Dionizas Poška' Baubliai. The year 2012 is named The Year of Museums by resolution of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania.
Museums not only collect and protect cultural, historical and artistic values, but also publish books about country’s treasures, local history, famous people.
The exhibition “Lithuanian Museum Publications” presents books published by the National Museum of Lithuania, the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, Lithuanian Art Museum, Lithuanian Theatre, Music & Film Museum, the National M. K. Čiurlionis art museum, the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, Šiauliai Aušros Museum, Trakai History Museum and other Lithuanian museums.
The exhibition is displayed in the lobby (floor IV) of the National Library (Gedimino ave. 51) until September 25.
