Congress, dedicated to 90th anniversary of the National Library of Belarus

The international congress “The National Library as a Phenomenon of Culture” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the National Library of Belarus took place on September 5-7.

The program included plenary and sectional sessions, UNESCO regional consultation on open access to scientific information and research, general meeting of non-profit partnership “Library Assembly of Eurasia”, international book readings “Historical book collections in time and space”, and the international round table “Preservation of historical book collections of Belarus”.

The National Library of Belarus and the National library of Lithuania are old friends: libraries exchange literature, experiences and exhibitions. Director General of the National Library prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas wished new ideas and their implementation as well as support of colleagues, citizens and foreign partners.
 
Acting director of Centre of Formation and Development of Information Resources Jolita Steponaitienė participated in readings of Book science. She delivered a report “Documents collection of Konigsberg University in the National Library”.
