Easing of usage terms conditions of content of European digital library Europeana
Creative Commons Universal Public Domain Dedication is given to metadata (in Europeana portal) since September 12. This means that users will now be able to use huge amount of reliable data without any restriction. Europeana data can be used for introducing new products and services as well as developing programs and applications for mobile devices.
This decision of European libraries, museums, archives, art galleries and other institutions, creating Europeana content, is a significant step in the implementation of open access ideas and initiatives.

The National Library of Lithuania is the national coordinator of the Europeana and its’ project “Europeana Awareness” since 2012. It aims at promoting the society to use informational and cultural resources, collected in Europeana.
