Director General of the National Library of Lithuania Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas was elected as a president of Bibliotheca Baltica during the Bibliotheca Baltica General Assembly in Tallinn on October 25-26.

Bibliotheca Baltica aims at uniting all types of libraries in the Baltic Sea Area in recognition of their joint responsibility to increase their efforts in preserving, developing, cataloging, publicizing, and making accessible their part of the Baltic Sea Area heritage.

At the same time the 11th International Bibliotheca Baltica Symposium “Changing Library Services for Researchers – Best Practices from the Baltic Sea Region” took place in Tallinn. Examples of good practice (about German, Russian, Finish, Swedish and Polish libraries) were mentioned in reports.

The Symposium was participated by director General of the National Library Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas, Deputy Director General Sandra Leknickienė, director of Library Science Centre Dr. Ineta Krauls and head of Strategic Project Development Department Eugenijus Stratilatovas.
