Possible scenarios of strategic partnerships for digital Europe discussed at the European Congress

The 2012 European Congress on E-Inclusion took place on 5–6 November in Brussels. Possible scenarios of strategic partnerships for digitalEurope were discussed at the event.

Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas, Director General of the National Library of Lithuania emphasized importance of the congress noting that national libraries became the essential part of the European Union information policy and infrastructure.

Heads of the structures coordinating actions on enhancing digital literacy, skills and inclusion ofEurope’s Digital Agenda set by the European Commission and representatives of IT business delivered reports at this strategic event. The Congress was also attended by implementers of projects funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation fromLatvia,PolandandRomania. The work was organized in three main conference sections where members of Lithuanian delegation took active part.

Lithuanian delegation was presented by Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas, Director General of the National Library of Lithuania, Eugenijus Stratilatovas, Head of Strategic Project Development Department of the National Library of Lithuania, and Dr. Ineta Krauls, Director of Library Science Centre of the National Library of Lithuania.
