Meeting with Lithuanian members of the European Parliament

On February 26-28, Director General of the National Library of Lithuania, Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas, Head of Strategic Project Development Department, Eugenijus Stratilatovas, Director of Kaunas County Public Library, Deputy Chairman of the Lithuanian Librarians’ Society, Asta Naudžiūnienė, and Cultural Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister, Faustas Latėnas had a meeting in Brussels with members of the European Parliament for Lithuania Laima Andrikienė, Vilija Blinkevičiūtė, Algirdas Saudargas, and members of the European Economic and Social Committee.

They discussed what impact modern library activities make on society and possibilities of their continuing adaptation to changing society’s needs.

The European parliamentarians gave favourable consideration to the work of Lithuanian libraries and committed themselves to support thoroughly an advancement of modern libraries.
