Evaluation of cultural heritage objects in Brazil

On March 4-12, the HERITY International experts’ team carried out the evaluation of 7 cultural heritage objects in the Rio de Janeiro region (Brazil). The team consisted of experts from Portugal, Italia and Lithuania; the latter was represented by Director General of the National Library of Lithuania Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas.
Regional culture centres and libraries were among the objects under evaluation. The next step – certification of cultural heritage valuables preserved in the National Library of Brazil.
Led by HERITY International General Secretary from Italy Maurizio Quagliuolo, the experts had meetings with the Rio de Janeiro regional government representatives and the one of the heads of IBIO (Instituto BioAtlântica), Director for Research and Development Inguelore Scheunemann. The IBIO is the main coordinator of cultural heritage certification in Brazil.
The HERITY certification of architectural ensemble of Vilnius University and its Library began in 2012. In the nearest future HERITY provides for evaluation and certification of cultural heritage valuables preserved in the national libraries of the Baltic region.
