Document Conservation Center is a satellite National Library institution, providing preservation and conservation policy. It acts as the National Preservation Office in providing lectures and seminars for conservators and librarians, as Lithuanian methodical center for IFLA Core Preservation and Conservation (PAC) Programme in close contacts with PAC regional center for Eastern Europe, Deutsche Bucherei, Leipzig. DKRC operates as the biggest conservation facilities in Lithuania for conservation and restoration of books, maps, manuscripts, art on paper, parchment, drawings, leather, paper money, etc.

The staff comprises 38 people in 3 departments:

• 2 conservators-bookbinders, 14 paper conservators are working in Paper Conservation Department, lead by Mrs. Birute Sivakova;
• 8 bookbinders (modern binding) in Bindery (Head T. Auskalnis),
• 4 technicians in Preservation dept. (Head Ms.Nijole Dereskeviciute)
