Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania published literature index “Library Science in Lithuania”. Four indices were published covering 194–1974, 1975–1980, 1981–1985 and 1986–1990 years.

Continuing this tradition Library Management Department of the Library Science Centre has prepared electronic version of literature index. The collected material covers issues of library science theory, practice, history, etc. during 1991–2000. Library science literature reflects the developments of library theory and practice of this period. Lithuanian national bibliographical index “Bibliographical News” and databases were used for the compilation of the index; information sources were additionally described.

The compler of the index is Danutė Blinova from the Library Science Centre.
