The exhibition of students (from Vilnius Academy of Arts) works of stained glass in Palanga Summer Reading Room
The exhibition of students works of lecturer Ieva Paltanavičiūtė and professor Algirdas Dovydėnas (of Department of Monumental Arts and Scenography of Vilnius Academy of Arts) “Miracle of Stained Glass” will be displayed in Palanga Summer Reading Room until 28 August.

The new European Library portal was presented at LIBER conference
The new European Library portal (www.theeuropeanlibrary.org ) was presented at the annual conference of LIBER Association of European Research Libraries inTartuUniversity on June 27-30. This is a joint catalogue of European national and research libraries, consisting of over 10 million digital documents and 200 million bibliographic records of documents.

Implementation of the investment project “Development of Virtual Electronic Heritage System” ends in July 31, 2012. This important project forLithuaniaand world is continuation of already conducted project in the period 2005-2008 (author and project leader Dr. Regina Varnienė-Janssen).
Europeana Plenary Conference in Belgium
Europeana Plenary Conference took place in Belgium (Leuven) on June 13-15. More than twenty Europeana project participants, representing European cultural and scientific institutions, information technology companies gathered in old Catholic University of Leuven. Works and their results (of 2011) as well as events for dissemination of Europeana content and services were overviewed during the conference. Great attention was paid to providing for Europeana future; various scenarios of development, including opportunities of creation of innovative network of Europeana Culture Commons, were discussed.
