The new virtual exhibition “From collection of Lozoraitis library: Rome” is prepared by Lituanica department of the National Library, commemorating the Italian Cultural Week; it starts today.

The board meeting of the European Library (TEL) and 26^th annual conference of European National Librarians (CENL) took place in Liechtenstein on September 29-October 2. The meeting and the conference was participated by Director General of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania Prof. Renaldas Gudauskas.

Traditional inter-agency workshop of Vilnius documents restorers (it is organized since 1982), took place in training base of the National Library (Pakretuonė), on September 28-29.

Temporary access to the database Frost & Sullivan, containing information about world industrial markets, analytical articles, statistical data on the economy, demographics, business and others is available until October 30.

Head of Italian Cultural Institute and attaché of Italian culture in Lithuania Mr. Davide Scalmani visited the National Library on September 28.

This September-October issue of the magazine “World Lithuanian” focuses on review of Seimas works and presentation of newly elected board of Lithuanian World Community.

Meeting of directors and specialists of National Libraries from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania took place in the training base (in Pakretuonė) of the National Library on September 24 – 25.

OCLC representatives from the OCLC office in the Netherlands with the help of Harry Janssen, a national of the Netherlands residing in Lithuania, gave a seminar for Lithuanian libraries. Participants were welcomed by Director-General of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas.

The new virtual exhibition, dedicated to 80th birth anniversary of patriarch of Lithuanian politics A. M. Brazauskas, is prepared in the National Library. Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas, while being President and Prime Minister of Lithuania, maintained close contact with the National Library and valued its contribution to the cultural life.

This year marks 130th birth anniversary of Lithuanian writer Vincas Krėvė. Especially for this occasion the new exhibition of printings was prepared in the National Library. The exhibition presents creation of Vincas Krėvė; it became the national heritage.
