She graduated in Lithuanian Language and Literature from the Šiauliai Institute of Educational Sciences in 1985 and in 1999, obtained a doctorate degree in Humanities from Vilnius University (the dissertation “Lithuanian didactic prose of the 19th century”).
Her research interests include the history and theory of the children’s and youth literature, the history and poetics of the Lithuanian literature up to the beginning of the 20th century, poetics of the text, literature and communication and literature didactics.
Currently she is involved in the research on the tradition of didactics in the Lithuanian children’s literature and poetics of children’s literature. The purpose of this research work is to investigate the content and forms of the didactic narrative of the Lithuanian children’s literature and its relation to the addressee (from the 19th up to the 20th c.) as well as the role of children’s and youth literature and the potential in its application at schools and children’s literature within public communication.
