Introduction of the project
A digital archive of Vaitkuškis (Wojtkuszki) will be created as a result of the project (http://vaitkuskis.eu). Just like other members of the nobility of the time, counts Kosakowski (who established the Vaitkuškis Estate in the 18th century) were collecting family archives, valuable art, numismatic, archaeological, and palaeontological objects, ancient weapons, and valuable books. After World War I, part of books and documents of the Vaitkuškis and Lyduokiai estates owned by the Kosakowski family were transferred to the National Library. The project partners will digitize and restore this valuable heritage in virtual space.
