National Library Opens Spring Exhibition 2019

Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition of the works by fifteen students of Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA) which is held at Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania until 28 April. The event is based on the open public exhibition of the works created by the students of the Department of Sculpture organised every winter where students of all levels present their work, all in one space. The selection of the artists and their works for this exhibition was not confined to such criteria as the same year of study, same underlying topic or artistic style. According to the exhibition architect, Gediminas G. Akstinas, different experiences and styles of the artists come together in an unexpected yet harmonious way once they are arranged in the same space.

G. G. Akstinas thanked the artists and members of the National Library exhibition curating team for their honest input, cooperation and efforts in promoting culture.

The curators of the National Library also expressed hope that this cooperation with VAA Department of Sculpture and other departments would continue into the future and that these efforts would result not only in spring-time exhibitions but also those devoted to other times of the year. Before calendar spring rolls in with full force, you are welcome to visit the National Library Exhibition Hall to experience the true Spring Exhibition 2019.

The works of the following artists are featured in the exhibition: Greta Eimulytė, Emilija Noreikaitė, Andrėja Puskunigytė, Ona Barbora Šlapšinskaitė, Lukas Strolia, Antanas Lučiūnas, Emilė Skolevičiūtė, Ūla Šukytė, Gabrielė Vetkinaitė, Marta Frėjūtė, Aino Sallamari Rantala, Beatričė Mockevičiūtė, Julija Matulytė, Rokas Valiauga, Matas Janušonis.
