US database package elibraryUSA now available at the American Reading Room

The visitors of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania now have access to a special American Reading Room database package elibraryUSA.

It is a digital collection of trusted information resources in the United States, including a wide range of electronic resources such as newspapers, magazines, books, dissertations, film and video. Access to the databases is available to registered users of the National Library via terminal computers in the reading rooms of the Library – the password will be provided by a member of the reading room staff. Access is granted to the following individual databases:

  • ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global
  • Gale In Context: Middle School
  • Press Reader

Academic Search Premier is the source for the multidisciplinary database EBSCO. This database contains more than 1000 magazines, newspapers and journals on a wide range of topics for students aged 11-13.

Press Reader
PressReader is like a digital newsstand. This hugely popular database contains 400 of the most widely read newspapers and magazines from around the world. The Press Reader format is very user-friendly – reading the electronic publications feels just like reading a printed publication.

Flipster
Using the Flipster database, readers can browse or read full-text articles from 17 of the most popular magazines in the US, such as National Geographic, Popular Science, Entrepreneur, Wired, Forbes, Reader’s Digest, The New Yorker and American Craft.

Kanopy
The video database features documentaries on American society and culture, from science to business, history to art. Opposing Viewpoints in ContextThis is an easy-to-use, expert-compiled resource for students, teachers, subject matter experts, lawyers, legislators, and anyone who needs to quickly learn different points of view on different topics.
