FLEXgiving – American Space Thanksgiving

Do you know how Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States?

Thanksgiving is one of America’s most important holidays, yet in Lithuania we still know relatively little about it.

How do Americans observe this day? Why is turkey always the centerpiece of the holiday table? We invite you to the Thanksgiving Day celebration at the National Library of Lithuania, where you can experience a touch of U.S. culture! During the event, alumni of the FLEX exchange program will share how this holiday is celebrated in the United States. You will also enjoy a fun quiz and a gratitude bracelet workshop. Come spend a warm and meaningful evening and draw inspiration from the spirit of Thanksgiving! The event will include:

  • Alumni discussion panel about Thanksgiving
  • Kahoot quiz on Thanksgiving with prizes
  • Gratitude bracelet workshop

The event will be held in English.

All necessary materials will be provided.

The event is free, but registration is required. Registration ›

The FLEX program is a US-funded exchange program for high school students who want to spend a year in the United States. The goal of the program is to promote mutual understanding between US and other countries’ citizens by allowing students to learn about American culture and share their country’s traditions with Americans. Program participants live with US families for a year and attend a local high school.
