American Space Birthday Concert with „The Schwings Band“

We invite you to the American Space birthday concert featuring the New Orleans jazz group The Schwings Band.

The Schwings Band is an internationally acclaimed jazz ensemble led by Remis Rančys. Founded in Vilnius in 2011, the band performs music inspired by the 1920s and 1930s, combining classic swing traditions with an original contemporary style.

The ensemble quickly gained popularity in Lithuania’s jazz festivals, clubs, and jazz dance scenes, and began touring internationally in 2013. Over 15 years, The Schwings Band has performed across almost all of Europe – from northern Scandinavia to the Mediterranean coast – becoming a prominent promoter of swing and New Orleans jazz in Europe.

Eight of the band’s albums – Jackfruit, Something About Us, Nyan Cat, Plombyras, Plazi, Teisutis, Fyodor, and Good Thing – have topped the best-selling charts on Bandcamp in the jazz and swing categories. Their latest, tenth album, Jackfruit, released in 2025, has also reached the top of Bandcamp’s best-selling chart.

The band has also found success on Spotify, attracting around 20,000 listeners each month, mainly from the United States, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Songs by The Schwings Band have appeared several times on Spotify’s What’s New in Jazz playlists. The ensemble’s popularity is also reflected in Shazam statistics: every week, an average of 100 users worldwide search for their music.

For the audience at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library, The Schwings Band has prepared an upbeat program featuring compositions from their latest album, Jackfruit, as well as pieces that have become the group’s signature works.

The concert is free and open to the public. See you there!
