Meeting with Rabbi Stacey Blank: What Is Reform Judaism?

On Friday, September 18, the Vilnius Jewish Public Library invites you to a meeting with Rabbi Stacey Blank, who will speak about Reform (Progressive) Judaism – its history, values, and place in the contemporary Jewish world. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Stacey Blank is the rabbi of the Reform/Progressive congregation Kehilat Tzur Hadassah, outside Jerusalem, where she also officiates at life cycle ceremonies – bar/bat mitzvah, zeved ha'bat/ha'ben, weddings, and funerals – for both Israeli families and those coming from abroad. Previously, she served for four years as the spiritual leader of Kehilat Darchei Noam and worked in the Israeli Rabbinic Program at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem.

On her path to the rabbinate, Rabbi Blank served Jewish communities around the world: she spent two years in Poland as a volunteer with the Joint Distribution Committee, worked as a student rabbi in California, South Africa, and Australia, spent two summers as the Services Coordinator of NFTY trips across Europe and Israel, and led Pesach seders in Belarus as co-founder of Hebrew Union College's FSU Pesach Partnership.

She is known for her work with children and young families. Having grown up in Cleveland, Ohio, she made aliyah in 2005 and now lives in Jerusalem with her husband Tamir and their three children.

The event will be held in English with translation into Lithuanian.
