AI in music has moved from a niche experiment to something we encounter every day—in artists' work, YouTube playlists and news headlines. The technology is already here, but our reactions to it—and our understanding of what it can and cannot do—vary widely.
Lithuanian Music Business Association invites music creators, artists and industry professionals to another masterclass exploring what AI is already changing in music, where the opportunities and risks lie, and what these developments mean for the people creating, performing and working across the industry. The masterclass will bring together experienced professionals who will share their insights, practical knowledge and perspectives on the changes already shaping the future of music:
Participation is free, but registration is required.
The masterclass will be held in English.
1) 'What Questions Does My AI-Made Album Raise?' by Lukas Keraitis
Lukas' presentation will cover the decisive moment when Suno.ai appeared and how he created an album (which Lukas believes serves as a good introduction to what we mean by "AI in music" and how it began, along with the different sentiments around it), as well as the ethical, creative and legal questions it raised.
About Lukas Keratis: A lifelong content creator and technology educator known for innovative educational experiments with AI and its impact on society and the creative industries. He co-hosts the popular tech podcast Du Bitai, serves as a visiting expert at the Digital Ethics Center, and previously worked as an innovation expert at Tele2. He is also a frequent conference moderator, leading discussions on technology, innovation and their impact on society.
2) Turo Pekari (FI) presentation 'From Lawsuits to Licensing: Building the AI Music Economy'
In the presentation, Turo will look at the business side of AI music: the key players, the deals being made and who is making them, the current lawsuits shaping the industry, and where new business opportunities are emerging.
About Turo Pekari: A Finnish music industry strategist, consultant, and lecturer with over 17 years of experience spanning music, technology, copyright, artificial intelligence, and international business.
He serves as Vice President of Music Tech Europe and Head of European Affairs at Nordic Music Tech. 3) Panel discussion 'AI in music industry: threats and opportunities'
It is an invitation to better understand the changes brought about by artificial intelligence and their implications for the music industry.
Together with music creators, representatives of collective management organisations and a legal expert, we will discuss the use of musical works for AI training, voice and style imitation, and emerging licensing models.
Can Europe effectively protect creators and their rights while still enabling meaningful innovation? And, most importantly, what do these developments mean for the day-to-day work of songwriters, composers and performers — for their creative freedom, rights and income?
Panelists: Turo Pekari / Nordic Music Tech (Finland), Tomas Narkevičius / Free Finga, Agnė Begetė / AGATA, Andrius Iškauskas / NOOR, Justina Madatovienė / LATGA.
